Here’s the promised recipe for homemade dog food following Sunday’s post. Get out the cleaver! Thanks again to @BaronVonZorcula for sending the recipe in. And if you have another homemade dog food recipe feel free to send it to firstname.lastname@example.org or leave it in the comments below. -UB
7-8 lb. of chicken ribs (I get these from the local grocer who trims them from the breasts they sell for .99/lb.)
1 bunch of kale
4 medium baking potatoes
Handful of random veggie trimmings or whatever I have sitting in the crisper.
(This has been green beans and carrots for the most part.)
Microwave the potatoes until done, leave the skins on as they’re packed with nutrients. Hack up the chicken bones and all. Run everything through the food mill (I have a KitchenAid with the food grinder attachment) and mix well.
Form into meatballs or meatloaf and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. This will make roughly a week’s worth of food for our 65 lb. bulldog.
